ABSTRACT

Terra firma forme disease (TFFD) is a rare type of keratinisation disorder with unidentified aetiology. Clinically, TFFD is characterized by brown-grey, velvety, pigmented patches or plaques. We present here A 9-year-old female patient who visited our polyclinic with complaints of thin papillomatous brown dirty-like, asymptomatic lesion on skin of abdominal region for 3-4 months. The lesion did not disappear despite cleaning with water, shampoo, and soap. When a brown dirty-like lesion is seen on skin, it should be determined whether the lesion is TFFD or not, and should be avoided from unnecessary invasive diagnostic and therapeutic processes. Because, lesions can be observed in child and adolescent age groups, TFFD should be taken into consideration not only by dermatologist, but also by pediatricians.
